BADIN: A newly-wed couple was found dead in their sleep in the bedroom in ward No.3, Golarchi town, on Tuesday. The death was reportedly caused by suffocation after gas leaking from a pipe in the attached bathroom filled the room during night.

The victims’ relatives said that Imran Gujjar, 28, and had married Sadia Gujjar, 25, in Karachi and brought her to his home on Monday. They had dinner in their vlaima and went to sleep in the bedroom, they said.

When they did not wake up in the morning the next day even after loud banging on the door, the family members broke open the door and found the couple lying unconscious, they said.

They reported the matter to police and rushed the couple to Golarchi taluka hospital where doctors pronounced them dead, they said.

Police officials said the primary cause of death appeared to be suffocation due to gas leakage but the real cause would be determined by post mortem. The police further were investigating the case, they said.
