KARACHI: An 18-year-old recently married woman was found dead inside her home near Shoe Market in the Garden locality on Tuesday.

Garden SHO Rashid Ali said that the body of Tahreem was found in her home and it taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medical-legal formalities.

Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed said that there were bruises on the neck of the victim and samples had been taken and sent for a chemical examination to ascertain the cause of her death.

The SHO quoting the MLO said that the woman either had committed suicide by taking some poisonous substance or she had been poisoned. He said the woman had contracted a civil marriage on her own free will around three-four months ago.

However, her father-in-law was not happy with the marriage.

Meanwhile, a young man was shot dead in Ittehad Town on Tuesday. Police said that Jehanzeb was gunned down near Eidgah. He suffered multiple bullet wounds.
