ISLAMABAD: A suspect was injured during an encounter with the police in the capital, police said on Thursday.

As per the FIR, a four-member police patrolling team in the area of Service Road I-10/1 reached I-10/4 near CDA Double Road and set up a picket in response to information at wireless about a snatching in the area of I-10/1.

The team spotted two riders on a motorcycle appearing from I-10 Markaz and moving towards the double road at high speed, it added.

The police signalled the motorcycle riders to stop as they reached near the picket; however, they escaped towards Katarian Bridge, and the police started chasing them in an official vehicle.

As the riders reached Service Road, opposite Khayaban Sirsyed, their motorcycle slipped and they fell on the road.
