United States President Joe Biden has reiterated his warning to Israel not to go ahead with its planned assault on Rafah without a credible plan to ensure the safety of more than a million Palestinians sheltering in the city, according to the White House, Al Jazeera reports.

In a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, Biden “reiterated his view that a military operation should not proceed without a credible and executable plan for ensuring the safety of and support for the civilians in Rafah,” the White House said.

Biden’s call was the second time in less than a week that he has warned Netanyahu against launching a military campaign in Rafah without a plan to protect civilians.
