PESHAWAR: Yuji Nagata, the representative of Rotary International Japan, has lauded the role of Ring Road campus of Peshawar Model Degree College Boys for donating blood to thalassaemia patients.

He expressed these views during a visit of the delegation of Rotary International to Peshawar. The chairman of blood donation committee of Rotary International Pakistan district 3272, Mohammad Yunus Sethi, briefed the visiting dignitary about the college’s contribution to blood donation.

Khurshid Khan, the polio brand ambassador, and Hasher Ali, the project manager of polio plus committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were also present on the occasion.

Mr Sethi, who is principal of the college, informed Mr Nagata that more than 18,000 students of the college and affiliated schools donated blood during the previous few years. Apart from this, awareness campaigns have also been conducted for anti-polio drives.

Yuji Nagata said that awareness campaigns would create awareness among people and it was hoped that polio would be eradicated from Pakistan soon.
