RAWALPINDI: Qaisara Elahi, wife of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, on Saturday alleged that the election results were manipulated in Gujrat and after the revelation of the Rawalpindi commissioner the returning officer of Gujrat, Haider Abbas, should also show courage and admit the rigging.

In a media talk outside Adiala jail, Ms Elahi and her sister Samira congratulated the commissioner for proving to be the “first drop of rain”.

Talking about the meeting of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, she said Chaudhry Shujaat visited the jail to meet Pervaiz Elahi but the former first refused and then came to meet him.

“The meeting lasted for 18 minutes during which only domestic issues were discussed. They did not talk about politics,” she said and added that Pervaiz Elahi had a blunt stand that he stood with Imran Khan and will continue to do so.
