Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi has questioned why elections were held when positions were being decided upon in a drawing room.
The statement comes a day after the PML-N and PPP reached a consensus on the power-sharing formula.
“Who’s going to be president, who’s going to be prime minister, who will get governorship; if this had to happen, why were elections held?” Justice Abbasi remarked while hearing petitions on the suspension of internet services.
He said that it seemed as though the courts had become useless, and questioned who was running the country. The judge lamented that the courts are not being taken seriously.
