Former MNA Tahir Iqbal, a PTI-backed independent who was the runner-up in the February 8 polls from NA-158 (Vehari III), has alleged that post-poll rigging was done to make his political opponent, the PML-N’s Tehmina Daultana, win.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Iqbal claimed he was not allowed access to the office of his constituency’s returning officer (RO) on the night of February 8.

He said that the Forms-45 of “26 polling stations were edited and that too, in a very strange way”. The PTI-backed candidate went on to allege that his votes were decreased while those of Daultana were inflated during the result tabulation process.

Recalling another alleged incident of post-poll rigging, Iqbal said the votes cast at a polling station for the MNA-elect were greater than those cast for the MPA-elect there.
