Universal is hitting the reset button to a degree in a new Jurassic World movie, leaving behind the Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard-led cast of Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy.

According to a new report, Leitch is in talks to direct the new movie, to be released in theatres in July 2025.

The talks with Leitch have not been completed yet, so there’s a chance things could change in the near future. It’s still unclear what the new Jurassic World will be about, but neither of the previous trilogy casts are slated to be involved, so making it likely to have entirely new characters.

The good news for fans is that Universal appears to be attempting to bridge the gap between Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.
