New Jurassic World lands release date

Universal is hitting the reset button to a degree in a new Jurassic World movie, leaving behind the Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard-led cast of Colin Trevorrow’s trilogy.

According to a new report, Leitch is in talks to direct the new movie, to be released in theatres in July 2025.

The talks with Leitch have not been completed yet, so there’s a chance things could change in the near future. It’s still unclear what the new Jurassic World will be about, but neither of the previous trilogy casts are slated to be involved, so making it likely to have entirely new characters.

The good news for fans is that Universal appears to be attempting to bridge the gap between Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.

Hypergalatic announced by Toei Animation

One of the biggest names in anime, Toei Animation, has Hypergalatic is in the works, and will be using CGI animation for it. The story of Hypergalatic will be handled by two men: Naoto Oshima the original designer of Sonic the Hedgehog and Joseph Chou, famous for movies including Blade Runner 2022: Black Out, Ghost in the Shell, and the upcoming Lord of the Rings anime feature.

Hypergalatic promises to bring Toei Animation’s storytelling flair to a family-friendly audience. The movie itself will tell the story of a young girl and her younger brother as they uncover a mysterious warrior named Ohkan. The trio set off on a journey to reunite our siblings with their family, and the adventure goes south before long. Currently, no release date has been tied to Hypergalatic.

Usher to launch “Past Present Future” tour

The 45-year-old singer-songwriter announced a new North American tour, ‘Usher: Past Present Future’ which kicks off August 20 in Washington and concludes October 29 in Chicago.

News of the tour comes ahead of Usher’s headlining performance at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show in Las Vegas.

Usher released a single and music video for the new song “Ruin” with Pheelz recently.
