HYDERABAD, March 6: The South Asia Lawyers Forum, Pakistan chapter, have demanded that the president and the prime minister should transfer customs officials posted at the Zero Point, the Khokhropar railway station alleging that they are inefficient and corrupt.

In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the Forum’s chairman Riazuddin Qureshi, vice-chairman, Abbas Jafri and information secretary, Mohammad Aijaz Bawani accused the officials of misbehaving with Indian visitors.

They said that Indian nationals were humiliated and their luggage was turned upside down. The customs staff demanded bribe because of presents which the Indians had brought for their relatives back home and confiscated them when they refused to pay, they said.

They demanded that civilised and honest officers be posted at Zero point and clean water and proper sitting arrangements be made available for the Indian guests.
