The Aurat March Islamabad chapter has strongly condemned the “reprehensible act of harassment faced by the woman-elected member in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial assembly by PTI workers”.

In a post on X, the organisation said: “Such patriarchal behaviours name calling and slut shaming, that too on the assembly floor, is nothing but a clear violation of the fundamental rights and dignity of women in politics.

It called upon the relevant authorities of the PTI to take “immediate action to investigate this incident thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions”.

“Political differences should never be a justification for targeting individuals or hurling abuses, especially based on their gender,” it asserted.
