PTI founding member Akbar S. Babar has raised concerns over the party’s recently held intraparty elections.

“Why do the same faces emerge every time?” he asked, alleging that the internal polls were merely a “drama”.

“A party that claims in intraparty elections that they have around 850,000 members […] out of them only 940 cast their votes, which means that 0.11 per cent party members took part in the elections,” Babar claimed.

“We will not accept this deception in any way,” he said, adding that he has approached the Election Commission of Pakistan to revoke the basic membership of party leaders who have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council.
