LAHORE: The Punjab Police arrested another proclaimed offender after repatriating him from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

The spokesman for Punjab Police said the proclaimed offender, Shahid, was wanted by Rajanpur Sadder Police since 2022.

According to a handout, Shahid was involved in several incidents of robbery and had fled abroad.

The police got help from Interpol and repatriated him back to Pakistan with the cooperation of the Saudi Arabian Police.

A total of 15 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from abroad this year.

IGP Dr Usman Anwar appreciated the police team for arresting the criminal from abroad.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police is actively working to provide ease to the citizens with smooth traffic flow.

IGP Dr Usman Anwar presided over a meeting regarding improvement in traffic issues in which Additional IGP Traffic Mirza Faran Baig, Safe Cities Authority Chief Operating Officer retired Capt Mustansar Feroze, SSP Traffic Ghazanfar Ali Shah and CTO Ammara Athar were present while all district traffic officers across Punjab participated in the meeting through video link.

The IGP said the obstructions and encroachments on the roads of all the districts should be removed with the help of the district administration.
