Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced six million Ramazan ‘Nigheban’ relief packages for the province, which will benefit approximately 35m people.

While speaking at a press conference in Lahore, she said an exercise of this magnitude has never been done before, and praised her team for executing the campaign within a matter of days.

She said that her workers carried out a door-to-door campaign to collect data on the families, adding that packaging and deliveries of the packages are already underway through a pilot programme.
