RAWALPINDI: In a surprise move, Civil Lines SHO Sub-Inspector Raja Aizaz Azeem, who traced the alleged ‘shooters’ involved in the assassination of an ex-MPA Chaudhary Adnan in a high-security zone in Rawalpindi, was removed from his post and transferred to Police Lines Headquarters on Wednesday.

Besides the arrests of suspected shooters Danish Bhatti and Junaid, the police have also detained the father of Danish Bhatti, who was reportedly aware of the murder plan, sources said.

However, Danish’s father has not yet been detained by the police.

The police team, led by the SHO (former) Raja Aizaz Azeem (SI),

traced the two alleged shooters and recovered two pistols and a motorcycle used by them.

He also successfully completed the identification parade of the suspects and later sought a five-day physical remand of the suspects.

As part of the investigation, the police have obtained the call data of the two suspects and some other vital clues that link to the mastermind of the murder.

On the other hand, the police investigating the murder of ex-PMA Chaudhry Adnan have placed four suspects, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Chaudhry Tanveer and MNA Danyal Chaudhry, on the Provincial National Identification List (PNIL) to prevent them from leaving the country.

The four suspects, including PML-N leaders, have been nominated in the FIR of the murder case.

However, none of them have been arrested as yet.

The SHO Civil Lines SI Raja Aizaz Azeem was removed and transferred, while InspectorSikandar Nawaz replaced him and was posted as SHO.

The removal of Azeem is being considered a surprise move by the CPO in police circles.
