TOBA TEK SINGH: Two under arrest robbers were killed in an encounter with Khanewal’s Makhdoompur police on Wednesday near Sargana Chowk.

Four robbers were riding a motorcycle on Tuesday near Chak 10/8R when a tyre of their bike burst and they went to a tyre shop for repair. In the meantime tyre shop’s neighbour Naseer Khan with his five-year-old daughter noticed their arms presence he started filming them with a mobile phone.

Robbers opened indiscriminate fire at him and after receiving three bullets he fell down. Seeing this, his daughter fell and died.

When the dacoits fled, Naseer’s brother followed them by his car and informed police. During the chase, he hit his car to their motorcycle and as a result two of them were injured while the others escaped.

Both arrested persons were identified as Ijaz and Fayyaz. They were being transported for the recovery of booty when their accomplices attacked the police van to free them and opened fire which was also retaliated.

When the firing stopped, the police found both outlaws had been killed.

Police claimed they received bullets of their own accomplices.

FIRE: Three workers from a family sustained severe burns after a fire broke out in a yarn cardboard-cone manufacturing factory near Bilal Chowk, Samanabad locality, on Samundri Road in Faisalabad on Wednesday.

A Rescue 1122 report attributed the fire to a short circuit.

The injured workers, identified as brothers Abdul Khaliq (19) and Ali Hassan (10) and their cousin Imtiaz (18), all from Rahim Yar Khan, were rushed to the DHQ hospital.
