PESHAWAR: The property of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, will soon be sold, as wished by him in his will, Mr. Ispahani Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul, said here today [March 10]. He told newsmen at the airport the proceeds of the sales would be distributed to the Peshawar University and the Sind Madrassa where the Quaid had initial education. Mr. Ispahani said in his will the Quaid had also mentioned that the proceeds … should also be given to the Aligarh University … but it was not possible in the present circumstances.

He said the Quaid had also left a lot of assets in India and when it was possible to liquidate them the share of the Aligarh University would also be given. Mr. Ispahani, a trustee of the Quaid Property Trust, said he would complete his job of disposing of the Quaid’s property during his stay in Karachi. … Asked how much did he expect as proceeds of the sale, he said it would be in millions, about six to seven million. He, however, stressed that he would hand over the shares to the recipients, named by the Quaid himself only in kind. … The money would not be given to the institutions to spend … as they liked. — News agencies
