DADU, March 7: The Dadu chapter of Pakistan People’s Party at a meeting here on Tuesday passed a unanimous resolutions against publication of blasphemous cartoons, army operation in Balochistan and construction of dams on the Indus River. The meeting held at the district office, was presided over by MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali.
Party leaders and activists including Pir Ghulam Shah Jilani, Dr Talat Mahessar, Riaz Chandio, Ms Kulsoom Chandio, Gul Hassan Qambrani and Abdul Haq Brohi attended the meeting.
The participants demanded of the government to sever relations with Denmark and other European countries for publication of blasphemous cartoons.
They expressed concern over army operation in Balochistan and demanded to stop it immediately.
The meeting expressed concern over law and order situation and price hike of sugar and said that people were experiencing difficulties. APC: The All Parties Conference (APC) has threatened to launch a drive against district administration, if law and order situation was not controlled, and price of consumer items were not checked.
The APC was organized by Citizen Ittehad here on Monday, which was attended by 25 social organizations, NGOs and political parties.
Gul Mohammad Joyo, Inayat Jamali, Qaim Ali Siyal, Furqan Ahmed Kabooro, SNF leader Mohammad Khan Panhwar, PPP youth wing leader Mohammad Umer Panhwar, Awami Tehrik leader Mumtaz Bhand, PPP-SB leader Bashir Solangi and discussed the issues facing in detail.
They said that law and order situation had deteriorated and demanded immediate steps to improve it. They said that heaps of garbage were lying at different places while the drainage and water supply system had almost collapse.
They also demanded of the administration to fix prices of consumer items.
FIRE: A fire broke out in a storeroom of the women’s ward of the Dadu Civil Hospital on Sunday night.
The record of the ward and other items were burnt in the fire, caused by short-circuit.
Hospital staff with the help of fire brigade controlled the fire after four hours.
