Nickelodeon has announced plans to air a re-imagining of its beloved animated series, Fairly OddParents, this spring.

“The 20-episode series follows beloved characters Cosmo and Wanda as they meet their latest spunky godchild, Hazel Wells,” the cable network said. “Together, the trio embarks on unimaginable adventures through Dimmadelphia, where anything is possible with a little bit of magic.”

Fairly OddParents — A New Wish stars Ashleigh Crystal Hairston as Hazel, Susanne Blakeslee as Wanda and Daran Norris as Cosmo. Blakeslee and Norris played the roles in the original series, which ran 2001-17 with 172 episodes. That show saw Wanda and Cosmo caring for a 10-year-old boy named Timmy Turner (voiced by Tara Strong.).

Sony revealed plans for three upcoming Spider-Man movies: Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the animated trilogy conclusion initially slated for 2024, but indefinitely delayed.

Producer Chris Miller assured it will offer “a very satisfying conclusion” with emotional depth. The next is a potential live-action Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire could return, but details are scarce. It was rumoured for a June 2025 release.

And the third is a live-action Miles Morales movie, though still years away from production despite the character’s rising popularity across comics, animated films and video games. This could give Sony’s Spider-Verse its own hero separate from Holland’s MCU Spider-Man. While a long journey ahead, Sony aims to continue expanding its Spider-Verse on the big screen.

As for what villains will be bugging the X-Men this time around, fans should expect Mr Sinister to be the main threat (as confirmed by X-Men ‘97 writer Beau early last year). Other baddies who will be appearing include The Goblin Queen, The Sentinels, Mojo, and more.
