HYDERABAD: A young Thari domestic help, Abdul Rehman Samejo, died under mysterious circumstances at his employers’ house in Latifabad, it was reported on Sunday.

According to the FIR (No. 47/24) lodged by his uncle, Habibullah Samejo, at the B-Section police station of Latifabad. Abdul Rehman Samejo, 22, was found dead in the wee hours of Saturday (March 16).

The complainant stated that he had received a call from a doctor, who identified himself as Dr Saddam, at dawn on Saturday to inform him that Abdul Rehman had committed suicide. The caller asked him to collect his body from the Red Crescent Hospital. Mr Habibullah further stated that he along with his cousin Zulfikar Ali went to the hospital, where Dr Saddam informed him that his nephew committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of bathroom at around 11:30pm on Friday (March 15) and the body’s postmortem examination was performed. The complainant claimed that he had objected to the postmortem examination but Dr Saddam did not give any satisfactory reply.

Mr Habibullah informed the police that Abdul Rehman had been working at the house of a doctor couple, Dr Naeem Babar and Dr Mahwish, in Unit No.5 of Latifabad for about five years.

B-Section SHO Sajid Arain said that Abdul Rehman used to work at the couple’s house in the day time and in the clinic of Dr Mahwish in the evening.

The police officer said that the couple would be picked up for interrogation once the postmortem report was received.
