OKARA: A political and labour leader Comrade Sohail Aslam, known as Chaudhry Sohail, passed away after a brief illness. He was 61.

Aslam had joined the Pakistan Mazdoor Kissan Party (PMKP) in the early 1990s in the presence of Ghulam Nabi Kallo and kept working for the cause of labouring and working segments of society.

During his primary education, he shifted to Chak 305-GB in district Toba Tek Singh to live with his maternal parents and maternal uncle renowned leader of the left and the farmers Chaudhry Fateh Muhammad

Sohail Aslam used to attend the monthly literary circle of the Anjuman Tarraqi Passand Musanifeen.

The deceased was laid to rest at his native village Chak 53/2L, Okara, and his funeral was attended by MNA Chaudhry Riazul Haq Juj, MPA Mian Muhammad Munir, former MPA Ch Muneebul Haq, former director health Dr Nazir Hussain, Comrade Majeed and Hashmat Lodhi.
