SUKKUR: Two watchmen and two labourers were kidnaped in separate incidents in Shikarpur district late on Tuesday night.

Family told reporters that a gang of dacoits abducted two watchmen, Gulsher Sethar and Khan Sethar, in Boriri village within the jurisdiction of Rustam police station in Shikarpur at gunpoint and took them to their hideouts in riverine forests.

In Naparkot area, another gang of bandits kidnapped two labourers, Chanesar Pahor and Imran Pahor and herded them away to the katcha area without any fear of law.

District police cordoned off the area and mounted search for the dacoits.

Sources said that dacoits had challenged the writ of police in Shikarpur district as they carried out crimes whenever they wanted and wherever they planned without any fear.

People in Shikarpur said that law and order had broken down across the district and police had utterly failed to restore peace and protect citizens. As many as 11 people had been kidnapped in different areas, they said.
