NAWABSHAH: The nomination papers of Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, youngest daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari, for NA-207 (Nawabshah-I) by-election were approved by returning officer after the scrutinisation process here on Thursday.

Ms Bhutto-Zardari’s counsel Advocate Farooq H. Naek, accompanied by Sindh Minister for Home & Law Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, Sindh Minister for Prisons Ali Hasan Zardari and others, told reporters outside the office the returning officer Ali Sher Jamali that the officer had approved the nomination papers of Ms Bhutto-Zardari after scrutiny.

He said in answer to a question that President Zardari was highly concerned about nation and he would surely manage to pull the country out of economic morass and help democracy flourish. The government would complete its tenure and people should not pay attention to rumours, he said.

He said that Donald Lu’s statement before his country’s Senate committee must be accepted by all.

Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari would contest by-election on NA-207 (Nawabshah-I), which fell vacant after her father Asif Ali Zardari was elected as president of the country.
