LAHORE: A trader kidnapped by some armed men two days back was found slain in Sharaqpur, Nankana district, on Thursday.

His son Tahir Hafeez said he had alerted the police when his father, Abdul Hafeez, didn’t reach home, with his mobile phone switched off.

He said he and his relatives managed to get his location traced in Islampura area. As they reached there, Tahir said, he spotted some armed men, including Malik Faisal, Mohammad Ali and Nadeem, taking his father away at gunpoint.

On seeing him and his relatives, he said, the suspects opened fire and escaped. On Thursday, he said, his father was found murdered in Sharaqpur.

Hafeez said the police did not take timely action to save his father.

There were reports that the police have arrested some suspected kidnappers.
