TOBA TEK SINGH: A young motorcyclist died after a metal string, believed to be part of a stray kite, cut his throat in Faisalabad on Friday evening.

Rescue 1122 said Asif Shafiq of Samanabad was en route on the Novelty overhead bridge in the Factory Area police limits when the string caused a serious injury to his throat. He died instantly.

A press release stated that CPO retired Capt Muhammad Ali Zia suspended the Factory Area station house officer (SHO) for failing to halt kite flying in his area.

It said an inquiry had also been ordered by the CPO and if the SHO was found guilty regarding the death of the citizen due to the kite string cutting, a strict departmental action would be taken against him.

ACTION: Toba Tek Singh DPO Ibadat Nisar suspended Kamalia Sadar station house officer Ibtesamul Haq Gujjar, ASI Shahzad Sikandar and constable Yahya Ihsan on Friday.

An official said that the senior authorities had received a complaint alleging that the accused policemen received Rs4.5 million from a

citizen as a bribe by blackmailing her through a girl with the threat to implicate her in a fake case, which was found to be true in an inquiry.

SHO Gujjar is the younger brother of PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council MPA from Gojra PP 120 Asif Ihsan Gujjar, and son of the late former PML-N MPA Ihsan Gujjar.
