CHAMANKOT BANKING: There is a dire need to install an automated teller machine (ATM) in Chamankot area in Azad Kashmir’s Bagh district. The nearest ATM is located several kilometres away, which causes inconvenience to the residents and makes them vulnerable to mugging and other criminal activities. Further, the absence of an ATM facility also affects local businesses as they struggle with cash tran- sactions and face challenges in depositing their earnings. Chamankot is surrounded by many villages, and it is important to have an ATM facility there. The relevant banking authorities should consider the proposal as it would greatly benefit the community and improve the overall quality of life in the area.

CRIMES IN LARKANA: The surge in crimes in Larkana is alarming. The local police force has failed to curb robberies and snatchings in the city. The station house officers (SHOs) are reluctant to lodge FIRs against the culprits, and often ask for bribes to do their basic job. The complainants, therefore, have to go to the courts to seek assistance. Stern action should be taken against all those equally involved in these crimes so that the local residents may feel safe again. They deserve peace.

PAINFUL JOURNEY: The remote areas of Balochistan lack basic facilities. Kharan, for example, does not even have a hospital. Recently, I travelled to Karachi from Kharan for my kidney treatment. My journey was extremely painful. The bus was full of people, mostly patients, and there were several potholes on the way. Unfortunately, the patients of Kharan have to bear these problems and expenses due to inadequate healthcare services in their own province. Even Quetta, the provincial capital, lacks good doctors and proper health facilities. The authorities must provide the masses with necessary facilities in their own districts to ease their financial woes.
