Departmental basketball next month

KARACHI, March 10: Pakistan Army would defend their crown in the All Pakistan Inter-department basketball championship being played in the city from April 2 to 9, secretary, technical commission, Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation (PABBF) ad hoc committee, Abdul Nasir, said on Friday.

Besides the holders, nine other affiliated units of PABBF namely PAF, Railways, Police, Wapda, POF Wah, Rangers, Habib Bank, KESC and Higher Education Commission (HEC) would feature in the contest.

PABBF ad hoc committee would organise the tournament in collaboration with Karachi City District Amateur Basketball Association (KCDABBA).

Nasir who is also secretary, KCDABBA, along with two other members of the PABBF technical commission namely Sheikh Mohammad Naeem and Ziauddin visited NSTCC the other day to have a look at the facilities for staging the competition.

The official said he had suggested to stage the event at KBBC court, Arambagh, which is the hub of game and attracts a huge crowd. Final decision pertaining to the venue would be announced in due course, he said.
