Speaking at a press conference alongside Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is currently in Pakistan for a three-day official visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged Muslim nations to raise their voice against the atrocities being committed in Gaza.
“Nations of the world are silent right now. I believe that we need to unite, at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation level and raise our voices until the conflict in Gaza comes to an end and the people of Palestine gain their rights,” he said.
“Never before have we seen 35,000 Muslims martyred like this. Thousands of children have been martyred, and thousands of mothers are left bereaved,” the premier said.
He remarked that the United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza was “being shredded to pieces”.
He thanked Raisi and the nation of Iran for taking a strong stand on the ongoing conflict in Gaza, adding that Pakistan always stood with the people of Palestine.
