ISLAMABAD: Punjab Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari on Sunday claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan was demanding an NRO from the establishment, but no one will give it to him.

Talking to journalists, Ms Bokhari said while some provinces have failed to compete with the Punjab government, leaders of one province have started using abusive language against the Punjab government and its leadership.

“We have a great respect for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the people, but the KP chief minister does not use ethical language. I feel pity for his family members.

“The PTI has been ruling the KP for 10 years, but it has done nothing in the province as roads have not been constructed and because of this people have been facing problems,” the information minister said.

“At present politics of PTI revolves around dresses of Maryam Nawaz, what she eats and how she sits,” Ms Bokhari claimed.

Azma claims Punjab govt will soon provide various facilities to farmers

“The culture of abusive language, introduced by the PTI is not being changed. Imran Khan, during his tenure as the prime minister, used to say he will not spare anyone and even now he is making the same statements from the jail,” Ms Bokhari said, adding that PTI leaders are trying to hamper the development of the country.

She said prices of edible items had started coming down and the government will take further steps to resolve the issue.

Referring to problems faced by farmers, she said the Punjab government is making efforts to address these issues and it will introduce modern machinery for farming and irrigation in the province.

She said farmers will soon get fertilisers, seeds and a number of other facilities.

Ms Bokhari said the Punjab chief minister does not need social media to show her performance as her efforts was quite visible as she has reduced the price of roti and improved the sanitation system.

She said that in the past people had to run from pillar to post to get birth, death and a number of other certificates, but soon they will be issued through a helpline and people will not have to visit government departments for this purpose.

The minister said she will ensure that cases from Journalists Support Fund are processed at the earliest and a mechanism is prepared for this purpose.

She said Media Town Phase II will soon be announced in Rawalpindi and access of Metro bus will be provided to Media Town Phase I.
