KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were shot dead by a citizen in Nazimabad on early Wednesday morning, police said.
Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that two armed muggers were looting passers-by near the Hussaini Government Boys’ School, Nazimabad-3. When they attempted to loot a man, he took out his licensed pistol and opened fire on them.
As a result, one suspect died on the spot and his accomplice suffered critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where he died during treatment.
The police said that the citizen could not be identified as he had already left the place by the time law enforcers reached the scene.
The SSP identified the suspects as Shahid Azeem and Saud Ahmed.
He said seven FIRs were registered against Shahid at different police stations in district Central.
Meanwhile, three persons were shot at and wounded by armed robbers in separate incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday.
The Sharea Faisal police said 15-year-old Najaf Adil was shot and wounded when he put up resistance to a robbery bid in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Separately, Faizan Shahid, 34, and 20-year-old Fazal Rehman were wounded by robbers in Nazimabad and Shah Latif Town over resistance, police said.
