RAWALPINDI: Following a complaint by the Motorway police, the Kallar Kahar police have registered an FIR against women car drivers on the charges of hurling threats on the Motorway
Police and creating obstruction in discharge of their duties.
After the registration of the FIR, the police have sought the CCTV footage which surfaced on social media on Wednesday showing some women occupants of a car abusing motorway police officials who stopped them for speeding near Kallar Kahar.
The woman could be heard in the video alleging that the police officials had attempted to snatch their mobile phone and demanded gratification.
According to police sources, after getting the CCTV recording from the Motorway Police, the Kallar Kahar police will confirm the identity of the women and would laterinitiate legal action against them.
The Kallar Kahar police have lodged an FIR on the complaint of inspector Motorway Police Samiur Rehman Khan who said that he with his staff was on speed checking duty when spotted a recklessly driven car with registration number plate of Islamabad.
When the car was signaled to stop, the woman driver parked the car in the middle of lane one and two, police said adding that as the woman driver was informed about traffic rule violation, she refused to remove the car and alleged that she was being harassed.
He said in the FIR that the woman not only refused to produce documents and driving license but the other women rider started making video and hurling threats of dire consequences.
She also incited the other women not to give any documents to police.
Later, they sped off while alleging that police had demanded gratification.
However, no woman police official was accompanying the male police officials when the women car riders were stopped by the police near Kallar Kahar.
It was the second such incident as a video clip had surfaced last month on social media showing a woman driver hitting and injuring a motorway police officer with her car on M2 North Chakri.
