TAXILA: One person was shot dead and four others received bullet injuries in separate incidents in Attock on Monday, police sources said.

In the first incident, a landlord and local political personality was shot dead over a land dispute in village Langrial in the limits of Pindigheb police station. Police sources identified the deceased as Sardar Azhar Sultan.

Moreover, two groups were injured as they attacked each other with weapons after quarreling during a volleyball match in village Sirka in the limits of Hazro police. The injured identified as Siddique Hanif, Abdul Salam, Mohammad Asif and Ahmad Zaman were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital Hazro from where they were shifted to the district headquarters hospital Rawalpindi due to their critical injuries.

Three held for beating youth

Taxila police on Monday arrested three persons for allegedly torturing a youth, making his naked video and uploading it on social media sites. The video went viral on social media, prompting the police to take action against the culprits.

A police spokesman said Nabeel Masih, an orphan and daily wager, quarreled with Shahryar Masih over a minor issue at Gulab Town. Later, Shahryar Masih along with Faisal Masih, Razi Sohail, Hairs Mashi and Shan Masih took Nabeel to a deserted area and allegedly tortured and stripped him.

Later, a police team led by Cantonment Police Station Officer Sub-Inspector Nasir raided their hideouts and arrested Faisal Masih, Razi and Shahryar while search was launched to arrest two suspects.
