ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted the petition filed by former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, seeking her transfer from their Banigala residence, which had been declared a sub-jail, to Adiala jail.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb pronounced the verdict that had been reserved last week and ordered her transfer to the Adiala jail on Wednesday.

The high court declared the notification issued to declare her Banigala residence as a sub-jail null and void.

The jail authorities had earlier informed the court that Bushra Bibi had to be moved to her Banigala residence, because Adiala jail was already overcrowded, and detaining her in the central prison would pose a security risk.
