KARACHI: A car dealer was gunned down by a man, who was wounded after he also shot himself in the Defence Housing Authority over a ‘financial dispute’ on Thursday evening, said police.

The suspect is under treatment at hospital.

The police added that Kamal Siddiqui, 65, was shot dead at his office in Phase-II Extension near Ayaz Masjid. The alleged attacker identified as Khan Shafi, 50, also shot himself.

Defence police SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi said that during the initial probe, it transpired that the victim owed Rs10 million to the suspect.

He said the suspect arrived at the Kamal Motors’s office owned by the victim and fired two shots at him. Later on, he also shot himself.

The body and the injured were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.
