SWABI: A widow and her daughter were killed by unidentified assailants in Yar Hussain area of Chota Lahor tehsil here on Friday, the police and residents said.

The incident occurred in Nako Banda area. Husband of the woman had passed away a few years ago, local residents said.

Yar Hussain police station SHO Fawad Khan said that the police were informed by neighbours about hearing the gunshots.

The SHO said that he along with a party reached the spot. “When I opened the entrance gate of the house there was body of a girl lying next to it. When I went inside I saw another body of a woman in the room,” he said.

The deceased were identified as Nasreen Ghani and her daughter, Shamil Ghani, 17.

The police shifted the bodies to the Yar Hussain Hospital for autopsy. They registered an FIR against unidentified killers and started investigation.
