DADU: Three people were killed and three were injured in a pile-up near Loonikot and two pedestrians were run over by a truck near Nooriabad on M9 motorway on Friday.

When a car coming from Karachi to Hyderabad broke down suddenly, a passenger coach coming behind it rammed into the vehicle and a truck on the other track which was trailing behind a trailer ploughed into the long vehicle.

The bodies of 40-year-old truck driver Ikram Khan, 18-year-old Sudhir Khan and 45-year-old car driver Raza Mohammad Chachar and the injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Kotri.

In the other accident, a speeding truck ran over two pedestrians when they were trying to get across the highway near Nooriabad.

The victims, workers of a private factory in Nooriabad industrial zone, were crossing the highway to get to work when they were killed by the truck. They were identified as 35-year-old Mohammad Fayaz Lar and 22-year-old Yasir Aslam from Rahimyar Khan.

The truck driver escaped after the accident.

The bodies were shifted to district headquarters hospital, Jamshoro, from where the doctors handed them back to heirs.
