GWADAR: Two children were injured in a remote control improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Panwal village of Jeweni, Gwadar district, on Friday.

Levies officials said that unknown miscreants planted an IED, which detonated, injuring two children who were playing in the area.

Levies rushed to the site and shifted the injured children to the district hospital. The victims were identified as Abu Baqar and Arman.

“We have also recovered an unexploded IED that was planted in the area,” said a Levies officer.

Truck set ablaze

Meanwhile, unknown armed men set a truck carrying merchandise from Gwadar to Punjab on fire in the Josak area of Kech district on Friday.

Levies officials stated that the armed men blocked the road near Josak and, after intercepting the truck, set it ablaze.

The front area of the truck was completely burnt, although the merchandise remained safe.

The armed men released the driver after giving him a warning.
