RAWALPINDI: Water supply system and motor turbine of Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench was stolen despite being strictly guarded by security guards.

According to an FIR lodged with the Morgah police, there were two tube wells located on the bank of Soan river near the Hamrahi bus stand for providing water to Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.

Tube well operator Ali Abbas Chatta reported that after completing his duty on May 11, the tube-well was in full working condition when he left on Saturday and the next day was a Sunday holiday.

When he came back on duty on May 13, he found a turbine motor, motor foundation, panel boxes, motor pipe ten feet, tube week grill, angle iron door, window, copper conductor cable 20 meters, chairs, valve, pipe were stolen. The police have registered a case and started the investigation.

In this regard, when the police was contacted they said that the water supply to the High Court was suspended for some time, but there was a supervision and maintenance watchman, appointed by the PWD on behalf of the project director, but the incident has been registered and the investigation launched.
