KHYBER: Pedestrian movement between Pakistan and Afghanistan via Torkham border crossing will remain suspended for three days due to the shifting of immigration offices, officials said on Thursday.
They, however, said bilateral trade won’t be affected as vehicles would continue to cross the border without restriction between Friday and Sunday.
The officials said the three-day restriction had already been communicated to visitors from both countries by their respective border and immigration officials.
They said the entire immigration apparatus would be shifted to a new building.
The officials said technical staff members of the interior ministry were called in from Islamabad to shift machinery and equipment and install computer software.
