CHARSADDA: A transgender person was allegedly shot at and injured by a man here on Sunday night.

The police said Shahzad alias Gul Panra came under the attack in the jurisdiction of Charsadda city police station. They identified the attacker as Taimur of Kladher area.

The injured transgender individual told the city police that when she came out of her residence at night to meet one Shayan at his room, accused Taimur opened fire at her, leaving her injured. She said she was shifted to hospital. The complainant said motive behind the attack was not known. The police registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, transporters face severe difficulties due to closure of petrol pumps in Charsadda.

They demanded reopening of petrol pumps, saying when the prices of petrol and diesel went up, the owners raised the rates overnight, but when the government announced reduction in oil prices they closed their outlets with lame excuses. They demanded the district administration to take cancel the licences of the owners of filling stations not operating them.
