PESHAWAR: Unidentified persons hurled three hand grenades on a police post in Jumma Khan Khwarh area in the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh police station on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Sunday night.

The city police said of the three hand grenades hurled only one exploded and that there was no loss of life. They added that the grenades were later defused by the bomb disposal unit.

“Those who hurled the hand grenades are being identified through the footage of CCTV cameras,” the statement quoted SP Warsak division Mohammad Jawad Ishaq as saying. He added that special teams had been constituted to arrest those behind the attack.
