LAKKI MARWAT: Two brothers were killed and four others were injured when rival groups traded fire over property dispute in Shahbaz Azmatkhel area of Bannu on Thursday night.

Miryakhel police station officials identified the deceased as Mamoor Khan, 25, and his brother, Behram, 18. They said the injured included Farmanullah, 60, Jalal, 40, Qasim, 28, and Kamran, 40.

Injured Farmanullah told the police he along with his nephews, Mamoor and Behram and relatives, Jalal and Qasim, was in the Shahbaz Azmatkhel Adda area when rivals Kamran, Zeeshan, Javed and their three unknown accomplices came there and opened fire.

He said his nephews died instantly, while he along with two relatives was injured.

Sonila Naz, 25, from the other side, told the police she and her brother, Kamran were at home when someone informed them that Ammar, Farman, Hidayatullah and three unknown accomplices had detained their brother, Zeeshan in the guestroom of a villager, Shaukat.

She said she and her brother reached Shahbaz Azmatkhel Adda area to rescue Zeeshan.

However, she claimed their rivals opened fire, injuring Kamran seriously. She added some accomplices of the assailants were also injured in the attack.

Police shifted the bodies and the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital.

They arrested Kamran from the hospital.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after postmortem.

The police registered a case and started investigation.
