KHYBER: The Khyber police arrested six smugglers and seized a large quantity of drugs from them in separate actions here on Friday.

Officials said the police recovered 40 kilogrammes of charas from a motorcycle at a check-post in Gandaw area of Bara, and arrested Walat Khan and Hussain Ahmad. They said the men fell from the motorcycle while trying to escape and got injured.

The officials said another 40kg charas was recovered from a car and its driver arrested at a checkpoint near the Bara Bazaar. The police in Jamrud seized six kg of ice drug from two motorcyclists and arrested them. They were identified as Aurangzeb and Raes Khan, residents of Shalobar area of Bara.

Another drug smugglers, Niaz Gul, was also arrested while crossing a checkpost in Bara. Four kilogrammes of charas was seized from him.
