DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The death toll from the house fire incident that occurred in Dera city the other day climbed to six as three more injured persons succumbed in hospital on Tuesday.

Army officer Lt-Col Dr Mohammad Saqib and his two children were burnt to death, while his wife and two other children had received burn injuries when a fire broke out in their house located at Inner Imamia Gate of Dera city on Monday morning when the family members were asleep.

Three other members of the army officer`s family, including his wife, 14-year-old son Mohammad Ashhad and daughter Manhal also lost their lives.

Their funeral prayers were offered at Eidgah-Kalan. The bodies were later laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard in Dera city.
