LAHORE: Two minor children reportedly died soon after having instant noodles in the Manawan area here on Wednesday.

The kids were identified as Maryam (11) and her brother Rafay.

A police official said the mother of the children had purchased two packs of instant noodles from Baghbanpura bazaar.

After reaching home, she cooked the noodles for her children. The health condition of both children deteriorated soon after eating the noodles.

They were rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced them dead, the police official said adding that it seems the food item purchased from the market was adulterated or poisonous which led to the death of the kids.

He said a police team has been dispatched to the bazaar to investigate the shopkeeper and seize the company’s product.

To a question, he said so far no such complaint was reported by any other citizen regarding reaction of the noodles of the same company in the city.

The parents were reluctant to lodge case, the police official said.
