GWADAR: Three people were found dead and five critically injured when a boat carrying 20 individuals attempting to illegally travel to Muscat got stranded in waters off Gwadar on Thursday.

According to Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Hamoodur Reman, the boat damaged a fault and got adrift at sea. He said 20 people were on the boat when it malfunctioned during their illegal attempt to reach Muscat.

The stranded group faced extreme conditions for 20 days after their boat broke down, leading to a desperate struggle for survival.

Mr Reman said the administration intervened to rescue the stranded individuals after being informed by local fishermen who played a crucial role in rescuing the survivors.
