RAWALPINDI: Four police officials, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kotli Sattian, were injured after their official vehicle plunged into a ravine while negotiating a turn on Friday.

The accident happened when DSP Kotli Sattian Abdul Sattar Khan, operator Rizwan, gunman Yasir and driver Dildar were on their way to hold an open kutchery (public meeting) in Santh Anwali village.

Police said all four police officials, including DSP Kotli Sattian, were injured. They were shifted to different hospitals by Emergency Services Rescue 1122.

Later, Regional Police Officer Babar Sarfraz Alpa arrived at Benazir Bhutto Hospital to visit the injured. SSP Operations, SP Saddar, DSP Headquarters, SDPO Waris Khan and other officers were also accompanied by RPO Rawalpindi.

The police said the accident happened due to brake failure. RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa directed SSP Operations to ensure best treatment to the injured.
