QUETTA: Two proclaimed offenders were killed and as many cops injured in a gun battle in the Surkhab area of Pishin district on Friday.

According to officials, police launched an operation at an Afghan refugee camp, based on information about the presence of proclaimed offenders there.

When police cordoned off the area and asked the wanted individuals to surrender, they opened fire on the police forces.

A heavy exchange of fire ensued which last for an hour, resulting in the deaths of two proclaimed offenders and the injury of another. Two cops were also injured and a large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the hideout of the proclaimed offenders.
