TOBA TEK SINGH: The Jaranwala police registered a case against two women and their three male accomplices for allegedly using a honey trap to manhandle a man, steal cash and valuables worth over Rs220,000, and blackmailing him for an additional Rs200,000.

Complainant Azhar said he was lured by a woman who asked for a lift on his motorcycle, and was then invited to a Razaabad locality house for a courtesy drink. Once inside the house, he was tortured, stripped, and videotaped by the accomplices of the woman.

Police arrested the two women and are searching for their accomplices.

FESCO: The Ministry of Energy has declared all 1,306 feeders in eight districts of Faisalabad Electric Power Supply (Fesco) region as A-category, exempting them from load management.

Fesco CEO Muhammad Amer announced that the power demand in the region is 2,293MW, and currently, 2,300MW of electricity was being supplied.

RAID: Drug Inspector Athar Farooq Wattoo raided a private hospital in Gojra and recovered a large quantity of medicines stolen from the THQ hospital.

The medicines were being sold to patients at the private hospital.

The drug inspector has sent a report to higher authorities for a legal action.

RAPE: A man was arrested for raping a 12-year-old boy in Gojra’s Ali Park locality.

The victim’s father claimed that the suspect lured his son to his house and assaulted him.

Police have registered a case and arrested the suspect.

DEATH GRANT: The Punjab Workers Welfare Board has issued long-pending death grants worth Rs162 million to the widows of 270 industrial workers who died while performing duty in factories.

Women Workers Alliance convener Parveen Latif said on Saturday the first cheque for Rs600,000 was handed over to Farzana Bibi, the widow of a labourer from Muzaffargarh.

She said marriage grant cheques worth Rs44.4 million had also been issued to be handed over to the labourers for the wedding of their daughters.

She urged PWWB to also issue scholarships to 4,000 student children of workers as they had faced very difficulty in paying fees of two last semesters.

NOTICE: The Punjab Council of Arts (PCA) has issued show-cause notices to the management of two commercial theatres, Minerva Gold and Noor Mahal, and four stage actresses for violating the code of ethics in stage dramas.

The director of PCA, Ibrar Alam, warned that action would be taken against them if a satisfactory reply was not received.
