RAWALPINDI: A mother of four was allegedly sexually abused by a man who she claimed tortured her and chopped off her hair in Akalgarh Mohallah that falls in the limits of Ganjmandi police station.

In her FIR lodged on Saturday, the rape victim said she, her husband and children resided in a rented house in Chaklala.

She said her husband was a daily wage labourer, and due to meagre income, she came to Akalgarh Mohallah on Friday in search of a house on low rent.

She said on reaching the area, a grocery shop owner informed her that there was a house for rent. She said she reached the house and knocked on its door after which a child and his mother, who was a teacher, came outside. The woman allowed her to visit the house and also provided her the mobile phone number of the house owner.

She said on reaching her house, she contacted the owner and told him that she wanted the house on rent.

According to the police report, the house owner asked the woman to come on Saturday. The woman reached Akalgarh Mohallah at about 10:15am and the suspect took her to the upper portion of the house on the pretext of showing her the accommodation.

She said while he was showing her the house, the suspect started harassing and threatening her. She said when she raised her voice to catch the attention of the people he cut her hair with scissors and threatened to shave off her head if she offered any resistance.

She alleged that the suspect stripped her and raped her. She further said when she left the house the suspect threatened her of dire consequences. However, after leaving the house, she sought police help and lodged a complaint with emergency police ‘15’.

In addition to calling the PFSA laboratory and crime scene unit, the police visited the location and launched an investigation.

According to the police, the rape victim was brought to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical checkup along with female police officers.

Though the medical report was still pending, the police have already filed a case against the suspect, who has yet to be taken into custody.
